President
Amateur Astronomers Association, Inc. (AAA) 2025 – Present

The AAA is one of the oldest astronomy clubs in the country, and Kat is steering it toward a more inclusive, community-centered future. As President, she oversees day-to-day operations, leads strategic planning, manages the organization's officers and finances, and represents the AAA in partnerships and legal matters.

Education Sub-Committee Member
American Astronomical Society (AAS) 2025 – Present

Kat serves on the AAS Education Sub-Committee focused on public outreach, community engagement, and informal education — bringing a grassroots, on-the-ground perspective to one of the field's most prominent professional organizations.

Informal Educator
Astronomical Society of the Pacific 2023 – Present

Through NASA's Night Sky Network, Kat supports over 400 amateur astronomy clubs across the U.S. Her work spans hosting monthly office hours for club leaders, producing and distributing educational content, managing social media, and running monthly webinars, keeping the national astronomy community connected and informed.

NASA Solar System Ambassador 2018 – Present

As a volunteer NASA Solar System Ambassador, Kat has spent over six years bringing the excitement of space exploration directly to her community. From school visits to street-level star parties, she translates NASA's missions and discoveries into moments that stick — the kind that make a kid (or an adult) look up and think: wait, that's real? It's one of her longest-running commitments, and it shows.

Public Stargazing
New York City 2012 – Present

From Central Park to the outer boroughs, Kat has been hosting public stargazing events across all five boroughs for over a decade. No dark skies, no problem — she finds the pockets of possibility in one of the world's most light-polluted cities and turns them into something memorable. No telescope required, curiosity welcome.
